Principal’s Message

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome our students, families, staff, and community partners to another year at Laburnum Elementary School. I am incredibly proud to continue serving as principal of this amazing school community. The relationships we have built, the growth we have experienced, and our shared commitment to our scholars continue to remind me of what makes Laburnum such a special place.

Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year, “Hear Us ROAR, Watch Us SOAR!”, represents the next step in our journey together. This year, we are committed to ensuring that every scholar knows that their voice matters, their thinking matters, and their growth matters.

Hear Us ROAR represents confidence, respect, and the power of student voice. In our classrooms, we want our scholars doing the thinking, talking, questioning, explaining, and collaborating. Through meaningful academic conversations, our students will learn to express their ideas, listen to others, respectfully challenge thinking, and confidently share what they know.

Watch Us SOAR represents the growth and success that come when students are challenged, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. We believe every scholar is capable of achieving great things, and we are committed to providing the instruction, encouragement, and opportunities necessary to help each child reach new heights.

One belief I continue to carry with me as an educator and leader is this: your current situation is not your final destination. No matter where we begin, there is always an opportunity to learn, grow, overcome challenges, and achieve more. Together, we will celebrate progress, persevere through challenges, and continue striving for excellence.

As students, staff, families, and community partners, we share an important responsibility in creating a school where every child feels valued, supported, challenged, and heard. By working together, maintaining high expectations, and believing in the potential of every scholar, there is no limit to how high our Laburnum Lions can soar.
